Zap!
Okay, so we were given a bug-zapper for Christmas. I'd call it a flyswatter, but it looks rather more like a small tennis racket, and it's a little scary to swing it around, because I'm worried I'll break something if I hit it. But, I cornered a big, fat fly that's been buzzing us, and lo-and-behold, it zapped it. You have to hold a button, for it to work (and the sticker on it says not to touch it while pressing the button!), but don't keep holding the button after you've got your bug, 'cause electrified bugs stink! Eeew!

If you have lots of flies flying around, then get some masking tape or duct tape & wrap it around the handle, pushing the button down. Then just set the swatter down nearby. The flies will come it it. I kept one by my computer last summer. I would tape it each morning. I could catch a dozen or more flies without doing anything. We have several of those flyswatters.
